Philanthropy as a Calling: A Message from Nana Adwoa Amankwah Pam I

My name is Nana Adwoa Amankwah Pam I (Nsuontem Nkosuohemaa), also known as Benedicta Edusei-Poku. I was born in Kumasi to Mr. Isaac Antwi Edusei from Tetrem and Madam Mercy Appiah from Nsuontem, Afigya. In June 2023, my family, chiefs, and people of Nsuontem entrusted me with the honor of being enstooled as the Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen) of Nsuontem in the Afigya Kwabre North District.

From my childhood education in Kumasi to my nursing studies at Premier Nursing, and later my journey to the United States in 2012, one thing has always remained in my heart: a love and passion for helping others. The Bible says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you.” These words guide my life and my mission.

Philanthropy is not just an activity for me—it is a calling. I believe education is the key to success, and no child should be denied that key because of poverty. I believe our elders, who have given so much to society, must never be forgotten in their old age. I believe young people must be empowered to dream bigger, aim higher, and lead their communities with pride.

That is why I established NAAP1 Foundation: to bring hope and opportunity to children, the elderly, and the less privileged. On April 21, 2025, we launched this foundation with our first major donation at Nsuontem D/A School—distributing books, pens, library materials, sanitary pads, and clothing. It was just the beginning of what we believe God will do through this mission.

But this work is not mine alone. It belongs to all of us. To our elders who support us with wisdom, to our youth who volunteer with passion, to our donors and partners who give selflessly, and to every single person who believes in the vision of a better tomorrow for Nsuontem and beyond—this is your story too.

I invite you to walk this journey with us. Whether by volunteering, partnering, sponsoring a project, or donating, your support will go a long way. Together, we can write a new story of hope, empowerment, and transformation.

May God bless you for standing with us.

With gratitude and love,
Nana Adwoa Amankwah Pam I
